Functionality for automatic unblocking of ITC after completion of prescribed period of one year will be shortly made available on the portal.

CBIC (@cbic_india) tweeted at 7:21 PM on Fri, Dec 03, 2021 in response to issue related to certain taxpayer who are aggrieved with continuation of blockage of ITC under Rule 86A even after expiry of one year:

Presently, unblocking of the input tax credit under rule 86A of the GST Rules be done by the proper officer.

The functionality for automatic unblocking of ITC after completion of prescribed period of one year will be shortly made available on the portal.
